My father in law’s Memorial Service weekend ~ sunday lunch before the last of the out of town relatives head home.
“Adult” table
“Grand children” table
Three full days of gathering and celebrating. My father in law passed a few months ago but we had a bit of delayed memorial celebrating him this past weekend. What a kind and thoughtful person he was. My husbands parents were examples of hospitality for many of their family and friends. They invited many into their home. A slice of life for them ~ dinner at the table surrounded by pleasant conversation and warmth. They both are missed and in our small way we try to continue their example of love for table fellowship. At the memorial service at our church, which they attended for over 50 years, many shared how they were welcomed into my in laws home for a simple Sunday lunch and other occasions. It also seems that hospitality goes both ways. The host/hostess is touched by the company of their guests. It’s a blessing for everyone.
